There is nothing more relaxing than taking a hot shower in the early morning. It awakens your sleeping muscles and fires signals to your brain, helping it get ready for the new day ahead. You can look forward to having a productive day ahead… until your cold water starts running out of the shower on a freezing morning.
When your water heater nears the end of its lifespan, you’ll most likely experience several, major breakdowns or a total shut down all at once in the most unexpected time. Don’t wait for disaster to happen. Consider a new gas furnace installation before things go out of hand.
When you’re about to replace your old heater, it’s only natural to look for the best unit out there to be of service to the many years to come. If you already know what unit or brand to buy, then you’ll only have to worry about finding the right people to install it. But if you have no idea where to buy, what to look for, or where to start looking then these will give you a basic idea of the type of heater you’ll need and one that will fit your budget.
Tankless or Demand Type – According to energy.gov, “Tankless water heaters, also known as demand-type or instantaneous water heaters, provide hot water only as it is needed. It heats water directly without the use of a storage tank. When a hot water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit. Either a gas burner or an electric element heats the water. As a result, it delivers a constant supply of hot water.”
Storage Tank – It’s the most common heater used in homes. The water is constantly heated in the storage tank either by electricity, oil, or natural gas. When the faucet is turned on, hot water is drawn out from the top of the tank and then unheated water fills in at the bottom. The cycle repeats every time hot water is drawn out.
Solar Type – This type is probably the most cost-efficient as it uses the sun’s to operate. A storage tank stores water while solar collectors collect solar energy to power up the unit.
Whichever heater type you choose for your home, you always have the option to fuse it with your existing central heating system.
